Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwickwas born on August 19, 1965 is an American actress. Her starring role on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The show ended after its seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her regular role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapy therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was Episcopalian. She was also of English descent. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish roots and stated that she is a part of Passover seders.
