Her roles in Selling Sunset on Netflix and prior TV roles, such as Amanda Dillon on All My Children or Jordan Ridgeway, Days of Our Lives is the reason she is famous. Stause was an Draffenville, Kentucky native. She earned her B.A. at Murray State University. She was an actress at the theater in 2003. Her middle name "Chrishell" which is which is a portmanteau of her name, is a result of the unusual circumstances under which she was born when her mother gave birth at the Shell station. Chris, an attendant, helped to deliver her child. But in her book Strause is adamant about the news surrounding her birth. She said her mother was suffering from car problems and pulled into a gas station. She entered pre-labor while was at the station. The attendant in the car assisted her in getting to a hospital. Strause was born in an in-hospital. Her mother separated from her biological father, who was half Japanese/half Spanish prior to her knowing she was pregnant. Jeff is her father. Her parents "struggled with mental and addiction health" and joined the Worldwide Church of God when she was 10 years old. Her mother did not have an employment that was steady and Strause describes her as a free spirit and self-righteous.
